Jay-Z's $88 million problem
Former boxer Mitchell Rose has filed a copyright lawsuit against the hip hop superstar at Brooklyn Federal Court, New York. Rose told All Hip Hop: "He took the style and delivery." He added: "He's on the regular, now Lil' Kim is using it. All I want is justice. Jay-Z knows what I'm talking about." It is alleged by Rose that following a fight between William Joppy and Felix Trinidad on March 12, 2001, he gave Jay a demo tape containing his own rhymes. The erstwhile heavyweight fighter even contends that lyrics were stolen in addition to style and delivery quirks. Rose explained: "He took the demo with him and shortly after that he began using the whispering (which he now frequents) in his songs."
