Channel O Music Video Awards 2008

It’s time for African artists to shine once more at the Channel O Music Video Awards. An annual event since 2005, this year’s event promises to be bigger and better with nominated videos in a vast array of music categories, including Best East, West, South, Hip-hop, Newcomer, Male and Female.
This year’s theme is “One Africa: Uniting Africa through Music.” The Channel O MVAs recognise excellence and contributions towards developing music on the continent.
Still for the fans, by the fans, voting for this prestigious Awards ceremony has opened to the public. The glittering ceremony will take place at Johannesburg’s Carnival City on Thursday 9 October 2008.
Voting in the Channel O Music Video Awards will put fans in line to win some great prizes – and, most importantly, help put their favourite artist in line to take the ultimate prize at this prestigious African music awards event. As the Channel O Music Video Awards draw closer, we at The Big O want to reward all the Original Africans who are casting their votes for their favourite artists.
Organisers have announced that four Casio keyboards (perfect for fans who also aspire to be on Channel O!), a Playstation 3, three watch sets and four cash prizes of US$1000 are up for grabs when fans vote in the awards. We are going the extra mile and also giving all voters an opportunity to walk away with three exclusive Sony-BMG Hampers that include the following artist’s music:
